Sales report by item: see what sells and what to stop stocking.
Stock drawn down by recipe as each sale is posted.
Each variance traced to one of 12 causes.
Janus is hotel management software that shows which drinks and dishes actually sell and explains stock shortages. Bar and restaurant sales draw stock down as they are posted, counts can be photographed from a handwritten sheet, and each variance is traced to one of 12 causes. The Janus team sets up your stock as part of onboarding.

See what actually sells
Sales posted from your menu land on a guest’s bill or an open tab as named items, so the sales report shows your food and drink item by item. You can see what to stock more of and what to stop stocking, without rebuilding the figures in a spreadsheet.
Stock that follows the sale
When the bar or restaurant posts a sale, Janus draws down the stock it used, by recipe for cocktails and dishes. Purchases and transfers between stores are recorded as they happen, so expected stock is always up to date.
Count on paper or on a phone
Count on a printed stock sheet and photograph it, or count on a phone. Janus compares each item’s count with what should be there: the opening count, plus purchases, less sales, plus or minus transfers.
Every shortage explained
Each variance is reviewed and given a cause, so a short count becomes a reason you can act on rather than a number you argue about.

Questions owners ask
Can Janus tell me which drinks sell best?+
Yes. Sales posted from your menu name the item sold, so the sales report shows what sold, how many and for how much, by item and by period, ready to export.
Who sets up our stock?+
The Janus team, as part of onboarding and at no extra charge: your items, recipes and opening counts. Menus can be brought in from a photo or a spreadsheet.
Do we have to stop selling when stock looks low?+
No. Janus never blocks a sale. It shows the shortfall so the next count and the variance review can explain it.
