A company queried its hotel bill. Here is how Mitos answered from home
A company client said a bill from Mitos Luxury Suites in Lagos looked duplicated. How the owner answered it from home, and three habits that make a bill query quicker to answer.
by Mark Ezema ·
A company client writes to say a line on its bill looks doubled, the total doesn’t match its LPO, or an attachment is missing. To answer, someone has to find the bill and everything behind it.
The query
A company client of Mitos Luxury Suites in Lagos wrote to say one of its bills looked duplicated. Before Janus, answering meant going to the office and, by the owner’s estimate, at least a day.
The answer
This time the owner opened Janus from home. He found the bill and its supporting documents, saw that the company had been sent the wrong attachment, and sent the right one. By his account, it took minutes.
What made it quick
Three habits help, with or without software:
- Keep each company bill with everything behind it. The guests’ bills, the LPO, the confirmation of the stay, and the email or message that sent it, in one place. A query then becomes a lookup, not a search.
- Keep a copy of exactly what you sent, and when. This query came down to which attachment the company had been sent.
- Let the person who answers see the record directly. Whether that’s the owner, the manager or the accountant, they shouldn’t need someone at the hotel to read it out to them.
Start with the next company bill you send: file it, and the copy you sent, with everything behind it.
In Janus, company bills are built from the guests’ bills. Read how Mitos runs on Janus.
